She played Karen Walker (Amanda Walker) on The NBC program Will & Grace, which ran from 1998 to 2006 until 2017 to 2020. Mullally was awarded eight Primetime Emmy Award nominees for Outstanding actress supporting in a Comedy Series. For her role, Mullally received nominations and several Awards. These included seven consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards as Outstanding performance by female actors on a Comedy Series. The first commercial that Mullally appeared in was an McDonald's spot that also was a tribute to John Goodman. Mullally made her debut on The Ellen Burstyn Show, a series that aired in 1986. Later, she appeared in sitcoms including Seinfeld's Frasier Winds Ned, Stacey Mad About You Caroline in the City 3rd Rock from the Sun as well as Just Shoot Me!. She played a central character in a season-five episode in the show Murder She Wrote Coal Miner's Slaughter, who recalled in 2012 that I had not been offered an employment opportunity since I had a panic attack since I was unsure of what I would do to cover my rent. Then, one day, I received an email from my agent telling me I was offered a role as a guest, and the show would be paying me $5,000. When I was asked to be a witness, I dropped to my knees and cried. In 2015 she portrayed Grandma Linda's character in Hotel Transylvania 2 Mullally has the father of Martha Mullally and Carter Mullally Jr., who was an actor on Paramount Pictures' contract in the 1950s. Mullally was able to move with her father back to his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of six. She's of English Irish descent and Scandinavian origins. From the age of six she's been studying ballet. She performed with The Oklahoma City Ballet and also went to the School of American Ballet, New York City during her college years.
